Thank you for visiting my blog! My name is Ahmed Mohamed Hassan, a Ph.D research student at IIT Madras. I focus on areas that prompt me the most: infrastructure planning and sustainable advancement. My studies have prepared me quite well to engage in provision of some of the great solutions in the area.
There is an adage that I believe in, which says, “A society grows great when its people plants trees in whose shade they shall never sit.” This means infrastructure is a much needed engine to the survival of a society. It not only boosts the economy, but improves the living standards of the people in the area. My research steers towards best means of merging infrastructure along with governance; specifically speaking, how can a public-private partnership be used to bring about the needed infrastructure?.
While undergoing my academic studies, I have studied and practiced quite a number of lessons on construction management, approaches and methodologies of implementing projects. In my opinion, good construction management practices are critical in ensuring that projects are done as planned in terms of scope, cost, and time.
Besides my skills in the profession, I also have a strong interest in education and a social perspective. I view an educated person as an important constituent in the formulation of sound policies and practices. Through this blog, I seek to convey my thoughts and encourage debates about governance related issues.
When it comes down to launching a blog, I hope that this will be useful one where people can exchange ideas and share knowledge. I will be covering quite a number of aspects as follows: In terms of Infrastructure, I will delve into the current challenges that cities and communities face while discussing the current strategies and developments in infrastructure planning and development.
On the axis of Governance, the focus will be on policy analyses and practices regarding infrastructure as well as the making of public service provision seeking to make the building of government institutions, policies and processes more open and accountable.On the spectrum of Education & Social Awareness, the blog will focus on education initiatives for social equity and social consciousness, as well as discuss community based initiatives that foster such changes.
On the area of Entertainment, the trends that emerge on the fusion and relationship between the entertainment and culture with infrastructure and other social issues will be discussed as well as the social meaning of the entertainment aspect itself.
